Sale pages on Jetstar's website briefly crashed as Aussies desperately tried to nab a $29 flight as part of the airline's latest travel offer.

The low-budget airline dropped the massive sale by discounting 29,000 flights for as low as $29 each.

The sale began at 9am on Friday (AEST) and includes 82 one-way domestic flights for budget-savvy travellers.

The flash sale prompted countless holidaymakers to flood Jetstar's website, leaving many stuck on the loading page or given a message that read: 'We are very busy right now and something has gone wrong - we are sorry'.

Customers had trouble securing flights for about an hour on Friday morning but were eventually able to get through to purchase their tickets.

It's understood the website is running normally now.

The five day sale includes flight fares from Melbourne to the Whitsundays, along with Sydney to Hobart from as little as $29.

The $29 price tag is a reference to Jetstar's introductory price of $29 per seat when it first launched in 2004.

Tickets for the lowest fares 'will be limited' but also include Brisbane to Newcastle, Adelaide to Brisbane, Perth to the Gold Coast, and Sydney to Ballina/Byron Bay.

Checked luggage is not included in the fares.

The sale will end when all tickets are sold or at 11.59pm on Tuesday.
