Born in Austin, Texas Dr. Jennifer Walden is one of less than 900 board certified female plastic surgeons in the US. Although it is a lengthy process to become certified, Dr. Jennifer Walden completed a prestigious fellowship and now specializes in aesthetic breast and facial surgery including rhinoplasty.
After receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Walden went on to obtain her MD at the University of Texas Medical Branch. She completed her residency training in Texas and moved to New York to further her professional training. As a promising young doctor who had graduated medical school with highest honors, Dr Walden had been selected for a highly competitive fellowship at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York. This prestigious fellowship gave her unlimited access to some of the most knowledgeable and renowned professionals in her chosen field of aesthetic plastic surgery.
Dr. Walden has recently relocated back to Austin where she opened a practice, Walden Cosmetic Surgery Center, and began offering her cutting edge surgical techniques in Austin.
Although she is working in a male dominated specialty, Dr. Walden sees being female as an advantage. Since 91% of all cosmetic surgery patients are women, she can empathize as well as sympathize. Many female patients feel more comfortable discussing their bodies and their concerns with a woman.
Dr. Walden is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is also an active member of numerous prestigious professional organizations including: the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Walden is the Vice Commissioner of Communications for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and serves on its board.
